Went for a little day hike in Mineral King yesterday, wanted to get up there one more time before they close the road. The road closes Nov. 1st.

Considering the dry year we have had, I was surprised to find running water in White Chief Canyon. Just above this little fall I found out why, this little creek is spring fed.

I really like the composition and how the moss really pops.

Great detail.

You certainly have a skilled talent for falls and cascades Michael. I've done short backpacks to the 9k juniper area just below those cascades a couple times and spent time exploring much of the basin. The limestone geology lets its underground water seep out a lot more slowly than similar granite basins of the area. And by mid summer the stream disappears and reappears in places. ...David

Michael,

I like this tight (but certainly not cramped) composition. I especially like the main cascade to left and how it's fall is broken and shifted back to the center. Just a pleasing comp all the way around and like Ed, the mosses add some great color. Well seen and captured.

Hi Michael,

This one has got my attention. The detail in the rocks and the delicate lace like effect of the falling water is wonderful to see. The only thing about this that disturbs me a little is the relatively bright region in the upper right corner. Its hard to say by simply looking at this tiny JPEG image, but what are your thoughts on lowering the brightness there just a tiny bit?

Regards.

Thanks guys!
How's this look Anil?

MIchael,

I like this for the reasons Anil mentioned. I think you're on the right track with that upper left corner. I'd burn it down even more, but don't darken that nice clump of grass.

Nice work!
