Fallen Roof Ruins
Mark and I sprinted into here and also Flaming Roof on Friday just before we buzzed out of town and headed home. We did both set of Ruins in 2 hours. It kinda felt like photography was an action sport, like Mark quoted to me!

Cool, I'll reserve the right to post Flaming Roof Ruin now! This one is cooler though, I wish we had taken the time to explore it a bit more.

Rick, I really like this view!! I don't think I've ever seen a shot that showed this much of the roof. And, there is a nice variation from the cooler shades at the bottom to the warmer colors in the roof.

Rick, great eye candy. This one really has a lot of elements to explore. The texture and color variations are amazing. Can't find anything to change. I'd be happy if this were in my portfolio. Congrats.

Rick, the only thing that I do not like about this image is that it does not look good small! Can you post a link to a larger version so we can see the intense details of the rock edges?

here's a link to a bigger version...

That roof is awesome. Very nice. I might also like it slightly more abstract, cropped right along the bottom edge of the dwellings.

Rick,
Cool shot. Too bad you guys didn't spend more time here.

Sweet - the large version helps a lot. Maybe someday NPN will allow larger sized images.... popping colors but I love it !!

Also, if you compare the npn version and the photo.net version, the npn version has less vibrant color. Rick, is this the same image but only resized for npn ?

I reopened the PSD and had to rework it a little for the larger post on PN

the pn image is better. nice to see larger. how did you post at this size on PN? BTW, on my monitor, laptop, the right side of the right window frame is a little washed but it could be the view angle.

Wow, the larger version really shows the detail much better. Thanks for sharing it.

That roof is wonderful. The walls of the ruin look more yellow on the top half than the bottom half (in fact most of the image looks cool on the bottom and warmer on the top). Was that the lighting or the natural color of the rock and walls?

Thanks for the comments! John, those are the natural colors...exactly how I experienced them.
