Western Kansas color
It looks like you guys had a good get together last weekend, with beautiful pics being posted. I went west, journeying through western Kansas on Saturday and Sunday. I found these trees north of Scott Lake. Scott Lake was built by damming the river that passes through this canyon. Most of the color in that part of the state was in the cottonwoods. 30D, 70mm, ISO 100, f/20, 1/25, polarizer, cropped to pano due to a empty sky. C&C welcome, thanks for looking.

That cottonwood on the left is really great, Rob - nice job!

Nice work Rob. I like the distant bluffs fronted by the cottonwoods. I'm going to have to get out your way for a weekend sometime to do some exploring. If I can ever carve out some time to do that I'll let you know, maybe we could hook up and you could show me around. :wavey:

Beautiful cottonwood, Rob! I'm glad the lake didn't submerge all the trees! Thanks for posting!

Rob, nice shot, it reminds me of the canyons in Arizona and Utah. Send some of that color down here!

Thanks for looking, and the compliments. The problem with the day was no clouds during the daylight, but to many clouds overnight which limited the number of stars I could capture :(. Can't argue with little or no wind in Kansas though, which made for a beautiful day and night.

Question: Would this work better with less sky and more foreground? Thanks.
