Hope this is the right forum for this. I have a Manfrotto 190MF4 tripod which I really like. I noticed about a month ago that one of the rubber tips on a leg was missing. I was unaware that they come off so easy. Now this leg is hollow and boggs up and clogs up with dirt and sand. I like my equipmnet to stay as purchased and this displeases me. I have written the company and received a notification that they had received my email of enquiry, but nothing more. How can I purchase a replacement tip. Right now it is wrapped with electrical tape. :frown: Any information in getting one would be soooooo appreciated. Thanks

Jackie, I've emailed Bogen several times in the past and have always gotten good results, but often not extremely fast results. You might want to give them a day or so to reply. You may also want to try this page for Bogen parts and repairs; this page has an 800 number you can call: ttp://www.bogen.com/support/returns/

If Bogen can't help you (Doubtful as that may be), you may want to try this web site - http://www.bogentripodparts.com/. They ARE NOT associated with Bogen, and I have never used them, so this is not a recommendation, just information.

You may also want to try B&H or Adorama - they may have Bogen parts.

Hi Jackie,

In our experience, almost any large pro store that sells Bogen will have a fairly large parts inventory. I'd bet that you can pick up the phone and call keh to find what you need. We've broken tripods so frequently over the years that parts availability is our major criteria for selecting both brand and vendor. We even keep spares of several standard parts on hand, due to our remote location- most notably the lever locks for legs and one each of the clamp collars that join the leg sections. Ours are much older models of Bogens, but I'd be very disappointed in both that company and pro vendors if the circumstance has changed for newer models.

BTW- We get our parts from Glazers in Seattle, if you don't find a source more convenient to your location.

Bogen parts aside, I've seen a couple of people using those white/biege rubber table leg tips as a replacement part for the tripod legs tips. In some cases they fit well enough to work. Not elegant, but cheap and quick.

Specific to the leg tips Jackie, we've replaced the standard tips on all our field tripods with these. You'll love them!
