I'm beginning to feel rather desperate...I'm on a Mac, using an Epson R1800, and trying to print a borderless 7x10 notecard from Red River Paper. Thing is, I'm using the sheet feeder, which doesn't really work all that great since I can't use the guide (since the paper is only 7" wide), and I'm trying to print borderless (no margins). Thing is, the prints seem to start printing about 2" from the bottom, which of course, throws everything off.
I'm scoured the Internet for solutions, and it seems as if this is a problem with the R1800 drivers, and there is no fix...BUT that said, has anyone found a workaround to print a custom size?
Intuitively, I would pick a standard size (say 8"x12") that is just slightly larger than a 7"x10", increase the canvas size from 7x10 to 8x12 and have the white borders, print the photograph, and then get the photograph cut with a machine cutter to a 7x10. (you could also use a hand cutter like this one here: http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=&webid=604477&affixedcode=WW)

You can move the guide to the edge of your paper and you can use the "custom paper" settings in the print dialogue under "print" and print basically any paper size or length up to 13 wide and X long.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'm trying to print on pre-scored 7x10 notecards because I haven't found any other cardstock with a glossy front with a back you can easily write on when folded into a greeting card.
As to the moving the guide, it doesn't go over to the right far enough to reach the 7" paper side with the manual paper feeder.
This is only 64lb paper, but it doesn't want to go through the regular sheet feeder, keeps giving me an error that suggests that the paper is too heavy to go through any way but manually.
Thing is, has anyone actually USED Red River notecard heavy stock on an Epson R1800 so I can learn from their experience? I asked in this forum because someone suggested this particular notecard paper, so I was hoping, just maybe, that they would be using an R1800. Just a shot in the dark.
Thanks,
Nancy

My recommendation would be to "trick" the printer. Set the printer to 8.5X11 or anything larger than 7X10 on a paper that can print borderless. Then use the print dialog in photoshop and designate the print position to start where you want. I think this should work fine for you.
Resolved! I figured out yesterday that you MUST set a margin of at least .12" on all sides when you want to use custom sized paper, even if you WANT to print borderless (you just can't do it with custom sizes). Then, you use the manual sheet feeder to print each card one by one. I figured this out by trial and error...and then Red River Paper confirmed the same thing with me. I think this might be a unique problem with the Epson R1800, and that's what made is so difficult to figure out.
