Hi Folks, anyone know of a company doing very high quality photo business cards? I have been disappointed by the quality that I have found so far. I'm looking for quality comparable to ink jet printing I can do from home.
Thanks in advance.

Why not do them from home?
I do, and have found that i can do around 200 cards in 30 mins or so.

Zack,
Have you looked into Modern Postcard (http://www.modernpostcard.com/)? I know several photographers and galeries who use them and their quality seems excellent.

I've been using Modern Postcard for at least 10 years and they are excellent. they have all the templates you need for PS, Illustrator etc that you can download and do your own design. I've used them for photo business cards and various size photo postcards for promotions. they are easy to work with and have good customer support.

Thanks for all your input, I think I'll give modern postcards a try, sounds like what I'm looking for.
Here's what I do. I have a printing source for 4x6s at $.06 apiece. I print photocards 4up and have 48 different images I use. I get a pile of them for $6 and cut them up as I use them. I have found that having a tiny portfolio stimulates interest in my stuff and I give a lot of them out. I am confident that these novel business cards, even if a bit small, are like jewels. I have even used them to show my photos to resistent vendors. Works for me, its cheap, and I do nothing but cut them up.

I'll put a vote in for http://www.overnightprints.com. Nice heavy stock, great printing, no complaints at all.
Best regards,
Paul

Zack, you might want to check out PSprint too just to compare. I've also made business cards designed in photoshop and uploaded to Costco and printed on Fuji matte paper. Looked really nice, but not very thick paper.

I use AAA Full Color Printing. Most of the print shops named in this thread will send you free samples if you fill out a form on their web site. I would suggest you try that and then compare all of them for yourself.

I have found the best to be AAA also. Get the 4/4 cards with aquius coating. Design using 3 dimensional text on the front and the back. I found that leaving an area on the back white for notes to be of a great help for customers. Have aaa mask the aquius coating from the white area so that it can be written on.
I use Vista and have been very happy. I got 1000 cards printed glossy with both sides for about $50....

Zach,
I have used this place for 2 business cards and a 5x7 postcard.
They have been excellent and I love the quality and will
never waste my time or $ to go anywhere else.
They are NOT new to the business and
are local to me so I have physically checked them out also.
A number of photogs I know use them.
May they turn out good no matter what you do!

I use a metallic pearl paper from Allenscamera.net and they really shine and stand out, very nice

I have to agree with Michael Dougherty on this one. He gave me the tip of the 4x6 prints with 4 cards to a photo and sending them out to be printed. Making your cards in this manner you have a very high quality card and you are displaying your work on your business card. I find that often when I stop to talk to someone and show my card, they often want to see every style and are very impressed.
