This is a shot from Pewits Nest taken yesterday. I spent the afternoon wandering around this small gorge on a bright sunny fall day. There was an artist sitting in a cleft in the rock sketching the scene. Thanks to Tim Mulholland for pointing me toward this great photo location

I’ve been off the network for a while. I spent the last two weeks of September in Colorado
and then made several trips to the south shore of lake Superior. Unfortunately the fall around here was not that great. It started raining and storming the middle of September and didn’t quit until after the leaves were done.

Hey! That's my secret spot! ;)

Actually, I was there on Monday, and had the place all to my self. And, I thought to myself, "gee, there's this one shot that I've wanted to take, looking upstream, up the slot..." And, the only way that that photo can be taken is in the creek. I'll tell the rest of the story later, after I scan my shot. It's not great, but it's something...

Tim!

I hadn’t planned on spending much time at Pewits Nest and didn’t bring my waders. I won’t make that mistake next time. This is really a great spot to spend the day.

Really like the look of the reflections in the water here, Philip. Trying to get a sense of scale based on the leaves. Is the channel about 5-6 feet wide at the fall?

Tim would probably have a better idea of the width but I think that is about right. Most of my shots that day were reflection shots.
