Having posted several other images relating to our trip to MWFC on another Forum, I thought I would post this image with a tighter crop to emphasis the head & look, rather than the full image. A real treat to get close to such a bird.

Accipiter gentilis - though all the ones' I've ever come across have been far from gentle
Also used to referred to as "cooks' bird" - as there was very little you could want meat-wise in a kitchen that this bird couldn't take.
Awesome bird, and an awesome portrait Steve - good one
PS - this bird is a juvenille as it's plumage indicates, but also, incase you didn't know Steve, when these birds become mature and even more 'crotchety and wild' their eyes change colour to a deep orangy red, just like those of Vincents' Khan..

Cracking shot, really fierce and intense looking bird. Great pose, excellent stuff.

Lovely shot, pin sharp and great detail!
Looks more like a Goshawk to me though!
Chris.
