Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knew of any trained raptors in the New England area. I want to practice my flight photography. I am limited to my 300 f/4 and have been disappointed with my results thus far. Every time I try and get a flight shot of a raptor passing by I am not close enough and the sky dominates the picture. I want to add some pics of flying raptor to my library but don't have the money to travel to the big migration locations down south.
Thanks,
David
I have heard of two possibilities. One is in Vermont kind of near Dartmouth but over the river. I think it is the Vermont Institute for Natural Science. The second place I heard of is in the western part of MA. I think if you contact the Hamphire Bird Club they could tell you. It is out of the Amherst area.

Wind Over Wings cares for injured raptors. In the Lyme area. Expensive but some nice head shots to be had (no flight shots though). I think CAP (CT Association of Photographers) or Bridgeport CC are scheduling a trip. I'll let you know when and where.
I'll investigate further and let you know. I was told the price was $65 for a two hour session.
UPDATE: Okay. Just went to the website by Googling "Birds of Prey." Phone is 315-415-1686 or email@talonshawks@aol.com. She will be at several sportsmen shows in February. 2/8-2/16 at Worcester, MA; 2/21 - 2/24 at the Big E Sportsmen Show. A falconry session in NY at her home base is $65 for 2 hours. Located somewhere near Colgate University.
