Went to Richmond Park today and no matter where I went there was a group of photographers getting in my way....
I thoroughly enjoyed today, may not have been much serious photography done but it was great to meet you all, some I knew others new aquaintances, sorry I think about 5 people are missing here, (well 4 anyway, the 5th person had the wrong day).
Really looking forward to the next get together in the Southern area, perhaps Richmond again but mid October for a bit more action, and the bacon rolls

So who is who in the photo ?

Alan - why this is Eric the Red of course
From left to right Paula Graham, Adrian North, Gary Beers and........I was too busy being a moderately serious one man photographer/eating bacon rolls, apologies to my other two colleagues not identified - I was off chasing parakeets when Phil took his photo

It was indeed a very good day, and I was very impressed by the weather that you organised for us!
Thanks again....

So.....that's how you English people get all those amazing Deer images...they are only 20 meters away and do not even blink their eyes when there are 5 photographers nearby...
We Dutch guys have to get up at 5.00 in the morning to get some decent Deer images if we can appraoch the at all...
Greetings,

If only they were all so obliging Jeroen - Richmond Park is an unusual phenomenon, but one worth making the most of

Phil,
Thanks for organising the day. How you managed to order up good weather, deer and great company is beyond me but I'm glad you did!
Jeroen, you are more than welcome to join us next year, they may look easy but beleive me they are not... we still have to get up early in the morning, I am supposed to be sort of local but it still takes me an hour and a half driving around Europes largest car park
I have no idea what time Paula left home in the morning, she was I believe the first there and travelled up from Devon, Gary must have been up early too....
Like I said you will be more than welcome to come along next year and enjoy some civilised UK Deer photography, including good coffee and bacon rolls...
The herd behaviour of the photographers was very poor with at least two members missing at any one time so I couldn't get an image of all who attended, and apologies for not giving names to backs I have a dreadfull head for names and it has been even worse lately..
They are there all year round, just check when the annual cull happens... Easiest is to Park in Pen Ponds Car park and just take a walk in any direction, you should find some, bear in mind that the rut is over now, but the stags still look good.
All the best
Phil
P.S. I am away now for just over a week and will not have internet access...

Sorry I couldn't make it. I was driving back from Lancashire after my stopping over from Mull. I was just plain knackered by the time I got to London. Would have been good to meet you all. Was there much going?
