I made this photo on October 9. I wandering around the N. Fork of Bishop Creek near the Forks Campground on a windy day and found this intimate scene tucked away among some boulders at streamside.

Man, these are the shots that are not so easy to find, Preston. One has to really be open minded and tuned into things a bit to catch this unique scene. I like the full collection of leaves and find it a very appealing image. Nice work, and glad you could work the 4x5 in with the wind blowing too.

Now, this is my type of image Preston. Simple and so very thought provoking. Absolutely gorgeous!
Love the contrast of the cool and warm tones. The leaves just jump off the image. Nice find!!

Preston,
I think Nelcha nailed it... Zen-like... Although I'd be hard pressed to explain it myself. :-)
This is very cool and as Paul mentioned, a great eye to catch this - and then to frame it so well. I really like the crack in the granite and how it's curve helps frame the little bowls of leaves.
A small nit, and this could just be a monitor thing, but I think a bit less exposure on the leaves and you could even tweak the saturation on them. But most of the time, not a fair nit since I haven't seen the tranny and all the other variables that come in to play.
Great find Preston.

awesome. What works for me is that little branch on the right side. it's a subtle detail but without it I think the composition would be lacking. With it, it is a great image.
