...and I managed to take some pictures while he wasn't looking!
Just a couple of images from Golden Gate and Gilpin County from last Saturday. This image is from my favorite scenic spot in Golden Gate Canyon, looking from the feet of the Sleeping Giant past his head and off into the distance.

And from my safari perch (through the moon roof of my Subaru), a couple taken just around the bend from my house. (I wish I had this kind of view from my house, but I'm happy I don't have the wind that goes with it...)

A slightly different take with a foreground.

You like fog? then make sure you get up early tue morning (unfortunately i wont make it) and head for the hills--driving from springs to woodland park i would expect it to be pretty clear beyond green mtn falls.

Nice shots, I think I like the first one best, with the icy looking brown grass,

I think the first and second shots are the best, but the second seems slightly underexposed, maybe a half stop.
Like Stan, I was thinking about a venture back up Rampart Range Road for sunrise tomorrow. Its sounds like the fog will sit much lower at sunrise than when I shot there last.

Thanks all. I went out looking for sunbeams but was too late in the morning; instead I got wonderful lifting fog clouds.
Mel, I darkened that second shot a bit and now that I look at it on my work monitor, the clouds do look a bit too gray.

I like that third shot best, because the foreground gives the eyes something to land on initially. The trees also provide a greater depth to the image.
