Can anyone recommend a good brand/supplier for camouflage tape, the cloth type stuff that you can put around white Canon lens and it comes off again?!

Thanks

Hi Gavin,

Have you thought about using the neoprene type lens covers?? Not sure what this tape is like but may leave a sticky residue on the lens? I have a cover on my lens hood other than that, I got of hold a cheap camo wet suit and cut the leg down, so all kit is covered and waterproofed.

Regards

Rob

Thanks for the replies.

I have a lens hood cover for my 400L which I got from WWS, which I'm happy with. The tape would be used for other things as well. WWS does have the tape but is a couple of quid more than I've seen it for else where and wondered if other trusted supplies people could recommend.

Gavin - the stuff I use sometimes is HSCamo Vi-Tech No-Mar gun and bow tape and better still their camo gun sock, which is very stretchy - both are available from gun shops.

Neither these two items, neoprene covers or any other tape will seal the lens and prevent water or grit ingress though - especially zoom lenses  :frown:

Check your yellow pages for local gun shops - most will have some.

If you're looking to put it on lenses or tripods, then I'd advise against leaving it on for long as the glue can be left behind and need cleaning off using a glue remover.

Did try the local tackle shop, bloke wander round looking, then said he couldn't find it but they normally had some. Must be good camouflage in it!!!

Right just ebay'd and found some of the stuff Andy mentioned. Thanks

Hi Gavin,

The older type of tape, the cloth backed is difficult to get for some reason , the newer stuff is of a different design not so good either. Think it is xd4?
It can, on a textured lens be v.diff to get of. Kevin at WWS was the last place I got some this june.
