The boys were showing off at Fenham Flatts (Lindisfarne) last week!
This pack of male wigeon performed like the red arrows for around five minutes, great to watch. The whistling was tremendous.
Comments please.

Hi Brian,
It's a nice effort, but for me the main group needs more separation. Must have been a great experience.

I quite like the fact that there are a leading pair, a min group and then a tail pair (although there's a cheeky imposter making a trio I see!!). Shame abou the conditions but the exposure work is really good and the whites look spot on. Nicely done
I'd like this in my bag

HI Brian,
I like this shot, I would prefer for the two rear gunners be dropped giving more shape to the composition. Nicely exposed.
maybe clone out the blobby things on the bottom!!

Nice capture considering the light - not a popped highlight in sight
I think Paul may well have a point about nuking that lower pair if you want to push for the ideal comp - but truthfully that doesn't bother me - I would be tempted to get rid of those grey OoF bits in the bottom of the frame more than anything else.
It's a great group. And I like background colour too. I would try to clone out everything grey as Andy and Paul suggested and probably would get rid of horizon too.
Cheers,
Marko

Nice group this, and an unusual shot. I too would clean up b/ground and then wish it had been a sunny blue-sky day!

Hi Brian,
I like the composition and the way the group is placed within the frame.
I think a bit of fill flash (perhaps with the aid of a Better Beamer) would have given the image more "punch".
I would also clone out the OOF blbs at the bottom.
I would leave the horizon as it gives a nice sense of direction to the image.

I like this shot, especially capturing the calling birds, and feel that it's impact comes from the feeling of rushed panic (is there a raptor about?). I know that this is probably a beginner's mistake, but I'd be tempted to crop it tight to the birds, to add to that feeling of claustrophobia. No need to clone out the rear gunners then, and I think that the horizon gives a reference point.
I personally can not make up my mind with the intersecting horizon, although obviously out-side your control, pre exposure {as with the birds positions}.
Decent result, in my book!!!!

Love the grouping and colour, but I don't like the line running through it. It would make a great print and would be worth tinkering with to remove the line.
This is pretty good if you ask me - I really like how you have an S shape to the composition of birds.

Thanks for all of your comments, wonderful, my enthusiasm for this forum is restored.
I have removed my 'lurking' thread comments from yesterday, please put it down to me having a bad day!

I think this is really good Brian, definately have a go at removing the background completely, but it works fine as it is. Maybe even add a touch more contrast to make then pop out a bit more, its great that three of them are calling.

Nice to see a full squadron for a change
