I'd like to shoot this scene after a good winter snowstorm. This is the best I've seen Hood look from the west side this fall.

Nicely composed but something looks unnatural with the lighting. I'll again say it looks like the S&H tool was a little overused. You are right about this area after a good snow fall. It does make it a little harder to get to the location because of the dummies that go up there in their old 66 Buick Wildcat with no traction devices.

Certainly not a "bad" photo but it isn't wowing to much either, Larry.

The light and color on the mtn are great and the nice sky is an added bonus. I don't find the FG and MG to be interesting enuf to hold my attention, however. Having those trees covered in snow would be a big help and certainly worth the return trip in winter.
Along with what has already been mentioned a decent snow would hide the logging scars.

Larry, I like the mountain and the color in the sky, but I am not really into the FG too much on this one. It does seem like a little too much of the S&H tool was used as Erik noted but I could be wrong.
I did shoot others but only to gain info on how to read the metering capabilities of my camera. This was nothing more than a test of a scene that I want to be prepared for under more favorable conditions.

I gotta say that I agree with Mark and Mark's comments. Plus, I'm seeing some shadow dodging halos around the trees.

I love the choice of foreground and this would be pretty filled with snow
