Hey folks, I surley hope this does'nt come across the wrong way. I have noticed lately that someone will post an image and not bother to comment on other images. This forum is give and take and it is sad to see good images and not so good images getting little or no comment's. The NPN posting rules say that if you post an image, you should comment on at least five other images. We all have to work together in keeping our community active and worth while for people to participate in. I know I can't force you to participate or give 5 critiques but it would sure be nice to see a little more critiquing going on. OK, I'm done with my little rant but I thought it needed to be said. Keep on shooting and posting. Feel free to give your thoughts on the subject.

I agree with you. But please note, I don't think it is a rule but a staff suggestion.
I don't post images here but I do comment on occasion for a few of the individuals that won't take things the wrong way.
Often when I see an image I could make a comment or critique on, somebody else has already posted a similar comment. Why clutter up the post with redundant comments? I suggest this is why many people don't/can't follow the 5X suggestion.

Erik,
Well said! As an aswer to Craig's comment, it helps greatly to know if more than one person likes an image or doesnt like it (in part or in whole). You could even say that you echo somone else's comment.
Or nobody has to comment. Just dont cry when you dont get comments back.
Eric,
Guess I have been falling under the banner of Craigs comment, but will speak up more often even if my thoughts follow a critique already made.
Jim, please keep your strong critiques coming as we all need those stinging bits of reality sometimes.

I agree Erick. While I certainly post photos to share them with others, that's minor. I have a website that I use for that purpose. I primarily post, especially on this forum, to learn from others. I tend to develop tunnel vision as I sort and work on photographs, and the feedback helps me learn and improve. I appreciate the negative feedback as much or more as the positive.
I strongly agree with Rick. If one person has a thought that is echoed by everyone else, it has a much greater impact on how I view the photo than if only one person has that thought. Even comments like "What John Doe said" are very helpful for me.
