techs Olympus e-1, e-zuiko 300 F2.8 plus 1.4 tc, iso 200, 1/1250s at F5.6, tripod and W. Sidekick. Full frame, processed in CS2, slight adjustment to curves, resize and sharpen. Small amount of OOF bracken cloned away from fore leg
Buck fallow deer making a run for it when a multitude of dog walkers appeared. The fallow deer are surprisingly nervous in nature compared to the red deer at Richmond

Your right about the skittish nature of the fallow's Mike - much more nervous.
Looks more like dressage than running to me mind!!
Only nit is foreground oof bracken which I find distracting.

I agree with Marks' comments above and I think he's a bit too tight at the top of the frame - but well exposed and nice detail

Hello Mike
When I first looked at the image I thought it was doing the fallow strut which I think is a beautiful thing to witness, I don't know if you or anybody else has seen that behaviour but when the male is in full rut he prances around like a springbok and goes into the dressage great to see. By the way great shot would have liked to seen more fallow this autumn but the Red rule the day
I feel its 'side-on' position is a touch tight for a full frame 'olympus' 4/3 format shot, and would benifit for a touch more canvas on the rhs.
As a fan of that format 'shape', and as christmas is arriving, i would be extremely happy to recieve your E-3 as a generous present

Hi Mike,
I like the inclusion of the OOF FG as it gives a sense of sneeking up on the animal, but also feel it is a little tight.
Chris.

You wouldn't be able to prize an E-3 out of my sweaty mits for all the bacon rolls in Richmond Park
Oly's handling of the E-3 roll out is their usual corporate suicide attempt, but at long last some amateur reviews are appearing with bodies loaded with finalised firmware 1.0 loaded - if this review from the recent Tokyo roll out is indicating that the iso 1600 performance in the E-3 is now approaching the "big boy" camera system quality - checkout the flower images and 100% crops towards the bottom of the report
My buck image is too tight in the frame for my tastes as well, I generally prefer my images to have an environmental content included as well rather than the American style of " big and in your face", but at least it proved to me that the non usm focus system in the lens plus 1.4tc can easily track lumbering targets, next step is a lunchtime trip to Regents Park and some flying ducks.

Hi Mike,
As stated, a bit tight but otherwise very nice. It's interesting what you say about them being more skittish than the Reds. I found at Bradgate Park that most of the Fallows are very skittish but there's a few who seem to hang around by the ruin which are pretty tolerant of the people and dogs walking past.
