Savernake in Wiltshire is a large privately owned forest. The Grand avenue where this is taken is the longest avenue of beech trees in the UK at 1.8 miles long. The whole length of it is like this at the moment. The hardest part is deciding where to stop and shoot!

Lovely setting and well captured.
For me I'd crop a touch tighter to the bottom of the nearest trees as there's a little too much empty foreground space that will feel tighter if you did so.
Might also benefit from David Clapp's dreamy process as described on his autumnal shot.
Its beautiful Andrew, and nicely composed for my liking
The central framing of the road works nicely, and leads my eye into the setting comfortably!!

Beautiful. A little less of the road at the bottom would make it perfect for me.

Ahhhh beautiful colours - I also think a little less road at the bottom improves the image (I'd crop to just below leaf 4095 from the bottom ) but that is only my opinion.
Very nice image though. Thanks for sharing

Lovely colours - just screams autumn! I'd agree with the crop suggestion.

Andrew, the reworked might just (for me) have cropped a bit too much but the overall feel gave me shivers - Nice one

Agree with Adrian here - just a touch over cropped: leave a little room below the tree on the left an you'll aklso get a bit more road back for overall balance.
Think the orton effect has helped though.

Don't agree with the comments regarding crop. The original is fine.

I see shots like this all the time for sale in shops, so shots like this do very well as a BIG wall hanger.
I also DONT agree about the crop as, as it is the eye is being led to the tree's.
I really like this
Oh when it snows viset this location again

I know this road, I was here in the spring, wow we have had a cracking autumn this year, what colours. I like the addition of the road in the shot, the ever diminishing trunks suck you right in. Well done.

Good seasonal stuff though.

I REALLY like the original image, without crop and without dreaminess!! Fantastic colours and composition.
Excellent work
