First on a couple from a recent trip to Sedona, AZ. This was taken on the West Fork trail in Oak Creek canyon. D80, f11 @ 8 sec, 18-135 @ 20mm, polarizing filter.

That is some great texture Dan. My abstract eye wonders if you have any comps without the shore ...

Thanks Jesse. I hadn't thought about it, but how about something like this? I like both, for different reasons.

Yeah, I like Jesse's suggestion. This is very cool!

Yes, I like the 2nd one. It isolates the most interesting part of the scene. Nicely seen!

nice shot-I`ve been thru there many times and it really is rife with compositions.

Great shots! I like them both. The second one works really well as an abstract.

Oh yeah! They're both nice, but I really like the second crop. Great work.

I'll be the dissenting voice. I think I like the first one better. The shorline grounds the shot somewhat (excuse the pun ), but yet seems more abstract. It makes it seem like the shoreline drops off into a deep crevasse, while still teasing the brain that it doesn't make sense.
