Bonjour
My name is Frederic Desmette,I am Belgian,I am a chef, and I live in England.I have been doing some photography for a little while.
I have been "lurking"on this site for quite a while, I did not dare comment on the picture posted on this site because I did not post myself, and I find that a bit inapropriate to critic image of other people when you are not posting yourself.
But now I took the plonge and here I am.
The first picture that I want to post is a picture of a hare.I have been photographing hare for the last 5 years at that spot, and the hare are now use to my car, so much so that I can have them standing a foot away from the car.I even name some of them.......They are about 20 to 35 hare in that area...
I wanted to take a different picture, a picture a bit more "arty".
I use the canon 1dm2, 500mm canon,2x converter at f13 and 250 iso
The image has been crop a little.
The picture was taken this last spring.
Hope you like it.
Have a good day

If you had got a little closer we might have seen a reflection of your 'ugly mug' in it's eye
Welcome Frederic - great shot, I really like the textures and and the colours are very nice. Certainly a different and intersting view of a Hare. Tristan
Hi Frederic { I'm sure i recognise your name from somewhere },
This is a fine looking image, along the same lines as Jim's seal-claw composition, and of the same high standard IMO.

Tres bien frederic - and welcome to the site: you've set the standard now!!
Really like this kind of close up-detailed stuff, and wish I rememberd to think that way a little more often than I do: this and Jim's seal-claw have certainly come as a timely reminding jolt.
That said the eye on the right looking out of the frame as it does is somewhat unsettling as a viewer, but any other composition and full-frame hare impact would be lost I appreciate, so suspect there were not many other options. Did you do a vertical comp at all?
All in all though a cracking start on here.

Stunning! That is incredibly close. I have been trying to do hare for a couple of years and have never managed closer than a few metres. Welcome to the forum - a great and unusual starting image. P.s. Have driven past your place a few times - now I have en excuse to stop in!

Wow, what can I say. I am frantically looking for Brown Hare locations in the South West so I hope I can achieve something like this when I find one.
Stunning!
Chris.

Hi Frederic,
Welcome to the forum To get this close to a hare is very special. A different and unusual Hare image, but very good indeed. Love the texture of the fur and of course that lovely eye.
Cracking first post

Welcome Frederic. No idea how you get so close to a hare. Great detail and look forward to seeing more
Hello Jim
The only way in my view to photograph hare is from the car. The car give you the independance to go antwhere you want to go in the field and after a while the hare will not even look at you. I always put the music quite loud in the car to get them use to the noise!!! My hare like ACDC, Hell`s bell is a good track. This year for the first time I was getting out of the car and I was photographing them from under the car to get them eyes level with me.They were only 5 meter away from me.
Now you have got to find a place that allow you to go with your car in the field.....
Hope this help
Also, thank you for all the Response everyone
Bonne soiree
Frederic

Phillip.

Hello Frederick
A warm welcome from me too. An interesting close up of the hare,it's strange, but when you see it that close it could almost be a variety of mammals.
Best wishes
Phil

A very nice photo - only a one minor point... crop a bit tighter in top right corner to remove the green.
