Lovely shot Phillip :toast:

Great light {not too harsh}, and although a fence post is not always considered a great photogenic perch, its very appropriate for this bird, and i actually quite like it in this instance!!

sooooooooo, did you manage any purp's, or are you keeping me in suspense :smile:

Hi Phillip,

Think this one needs a bit more USM, looks a tad soft on the eye. Also I would give it a bit more saturation. Other than that, very nice image, with a very nice BG.

Regards

Hi Alan yes I did manage to get a single purple sand nowhere near as good as your images, will definitely take you up on your offer though, if you fancy a trip out one day I will come and pick you up as I seem to remember you don't have a car.

Phillip.

Glad you managed to get a shot Phillip :toast:

Although early spring is best, in my neck of the woods, I'm 99% certain that you would get lucky at any time from now on.

Weekdays are ideal, as the area will be entirely ours, so we just need some decent light and suitable tides.

Will keep in touch, and can arrange a suitable meet-up {my time is very flexible, so any time will suit me}

Lovely looking image Phillip - it looks tack sharp on my monitor :toast: :toast:

Don't mind the perch one iota myself - a bird sits on what ever it fancies, be it a fence post or a rusty bit of scrap metal, and if it's happy to sit on it then I'm happy to photograph it :biggrin:

Anyway it's contextual :biggrin: :biggrin: :wink: :wink:

Nice comp, nice detail - only thing I'd try to do Phillip is try and change the color balance of the BG - only the background mind, a little less on the red side would make the bird pop a bit more :wavey:

Excellent shot. A bit more USM might help though.
