Now that I am finding more time to post again, I should put a few over here. I've been in a long, (it seems), shooting dry spell for some reason.
Here is one from a morning with Eric Hahl and Rick Lundh from last weekend at the Children's Arboretum..

Ned,
Good to see you back. I too got into a funk. I did quite a few workshops where I typically don't shoot a lot. Now that they are over, I am back in Oregon and back shooting. My shooting suffered from just plain not shooting enough. let me know if you are around and want to get out.
I'd like to take a nice nap under this tree. It looks really inviting!

Ned, it's a nice image, colors look good, but just not grabbing me.

Ned, I am not feeling this one either....Too much stuff in the background and the colors are a bit on the dull side.....

I like the tree Ned, but agree with Darren on the background.

What about a square crop, taking the top off? After that I think I'd jack around with it and make it real arty.

I'm so into shooting images of trees that this image works great for me. I would crop off about 15% from the top and maybe give it just a bit more punch. I actually LIKE the background!!!

thanks much for the comments and suggestions. I, too would like to do some arty things with this besides what I sometimes do with blurring and Ortonization. One of these days I would like to find a good watercolor and other-effects programming for images such as this.
