I am considering a trip down there - a newcomer to nature photography is interested in a trip with me. Anyone willing to give out a status report? Are the leaves mostly on the ground now? Tim E.?
Just wanted to know what's left, and if any Elk are roaming around Boxley Valley as of late...
I just got back from the Hot Springs show - there is still a LOT of color south of Jasper along Hwy 7 and in the Low Gap area - in fact it is peaking right now - some really nice stuff but you have to find the right light and angle. When I went through Boxley a couple of days ago in the daylight there was very little color so I think it is gone there. I was surprised to see how much wonderful color there was down in the Ouachitas this morning, although in the harsh noon-time light on our way back the color was nearly gone - just goes to show you that the light means everything when it comes to color, and everything else photographic for that matter...

You've confirmed my suspicions that it's already gone south... although this windy weather isn't doing us any favors either! I was lucky enough last Saturday to get a couple of nice images, but that's it...
