Winter in Kentucky!
Well, not yet, actually. The eye deceives. I was out at Raven's Run nature sanctuary today and ran across the neatest little fungus, a tooth fungus, I believe. Here's a detail of the bottom, processed 8 images in Helicon Focus, tweaked the levels and did a B&W conversion. Thought the tight comp looked a lot like icicles. I'll follow up with a shot of the whole fungus.

Here's a shot of the whole fungus. It is about 5 inches across.

Dominic, wow it does look like icicles, and a very neat close up shot of the detail. That thing is wild looking when you see all of it. I would like to see the top image in color I kinda like the brown tones on it.
Very cool

That's really "cool", Dominic. You could play around with this thing for hours! What a nice find!

Dominic, I'm so glad you posted the photos. That's one of the most interesting mushrooms/fungi I've ever seen, and I'm sure if I was out hiking and saw one it would stop me in my tracks.

Really interesting specimen Dominic. Great eye to find this one and an even better job with the comps!

Thats cool Dominic. That second one looks more like its 5 feet across than 5 inches.
