Hi to all,
Snipe , photographed at RSPB Old moor.
Levels , Usm(100,0.5,1 x2)
Canon 40D , 500F4IS , Gitzo1325 , Wimberley v2
Can't remember the techs as I was going to bin the image
I was just wondering how this looks on your monitors , it's a very large crop hence the lack of sharpness and a great deal of cloning has taken place around the bird to remove distractions.
The image has been processed using CS2 on a uncalibrated HP w1907v monitor ( GMB eyeone display2 should arrive next week )
Any thoughts on the comp would be appreciated
Regards
Andy...

andy, i don't think i'm tech enough to comment on the colour calibration etc, it looks sharp enough in the head.
i do know however that at least in this part of the world snipe are rediculously hard to get close to so that in itself makes this image a good one.

very, very, nice reflection, and the bird is doing something, and that make it even more interesting.

Decent sharpness/detail for a big crop Andy, and focus is spot-on!!
The clump of 'grass' by the tail is the only drawback for me, but the 'action' compensates nicely!
Looks nicely processed to my eye

Hi Andy,
Looks OK for a big crop. Colours look good to. I like the inclusion of the reflection. Not sure about the thing behind the tail.

Sweet shot Andy, it is a shame about the weed behind the tail I would tidy it off. Great pic though, never been to Old Moor have to have a trip out there sometime.

Looks well processed to me and definitely worth keeping. Always good to get the subject actually doing something.
