Emmett at the Little Maumelle
Wayne and Michael Fox already know Emmett, but for everyone else, let me introduce you all to the greatest dog in the world! This was taken last Wednesday morning at Two Rivers Park in Little Rock.

Shooting data: Nikon D200, Sigma 50-150/2.8 @ 50mm, ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/500. Not much was done to the image in post other than mild USM and resize.

Thanks for looking!

Hey Jason, nice to see Emmett again. Is Emmett any warmer to strangers? Never was to sure about me ... but I guess that just means he's got good instincts! Nice shot on a lovely fall day. Thanks for sharing!

It looks like Emmett likes the water! Does he go on all your photo excursions?

The trees in the background are on fire!

Nicely done, Jason. Isn't it great to have a trail companion on a beautiful fall day, or any day, for that matter.

Good to meet you, Emmett. Jason, the placement of Emmett in the corner works well, and you've got a great backdrop. I don't recognize his breed. Can you help me out?

Thanks everyone! Emmett is a border collie, perhaps the best border collie there is. But don't let that deter you... all border collies are very smart and are very interested in making their owners happy! This one wanted to bite Wayne a couple of years ago when we had the first every CSNP campout at Steele Creek. It was a small gathering... nothing nearly as large and successful as the ones you've been having recently. Anyway, he goes with us whenever we go hiking/photographing, which explains why I have almost no wildlife photos in my collection. :)

Jason nice shot of Emmett and I agree with Tom the trees across the lake have some great color and makea great background. I have a golden retriever named Copper that I really love. He likes water also so forget about a good reflection image also.

Nice shot, Jason - beautiful trees in the bg, and nice blue water. There's a reason they're called "man's best friend", and Emment looks like a great pal to have on any trip.

Jason, I know about Border Collies. I lost Freckles, my buddy of 8+ years last summer. I resisted getting another but caved when my wife complained of how empty the house was. Now we have Lady, another Collie/Heeler mix. She's still learning the rules of living with humans-stay out of the road, don't eat cat poop then go kiss mom, etc. but her heart's in the right place. Here she is sleeping in the yard Saturday while I'm working on the house.
