Last knockings from Westonbirt
Not the best of conditions today, slight breeze, frequent showers and little sun, but at least another day out with a camera. A few too many bright highlights, and tried a small amount of gausian blur in the the proceesing, but obviously need to go back to the drawing board on that one!

Olympus E-500, 50-200mm iso 100 and tripod

hi mike,

nice try. i can see where you are coming from. this looks too blurry or soft, can't work out which? also the BG is too mottled and hence lets the eye wander too much.

i htink this needs a clear BG, either dark or light, to allow concentration on that simple yet complicated beauty of the two leaves intertwined.

yep, this is in my "almost" catalogue, - not a serious photographic session given the weather conditions, it was just nice to wander round with 1 lens and camera for a couple of hours this afternoon.

Here is a different interpretation/conversion without the gaussian blur and lightened a bit more and more highlights to contend with

(all these are converted on my laptop which has dubious color balance at present)

Mike, now I like the BG in the original.

What I'd do is a new adjustment layer and make the repost changes to the leaves only then blend the layers - now that'll take it from the 'almost' to the 'definate' catalogue imho :toast: :wavey:

Cracking shot, just the white blob to remove now or as suggested a blend of the two.

Beautiful colours here, it could just do with a tad more depth of field and the leaves to be tack sharp. Here is my go at theses lovely colours. Sounds like a nice relaxing afternoon. Tristan

Thanks guys - I was a bit rough and ready with the processing on this one.

The shot is suffering from motion blur so will not make it through to a print - web downsizing can hide a lot of defects! - I just enjoyed the mixture of colours in the image.

I've a few more images to trawl through from yesterday, but really Westonbirt was at its prime 2 weeks ago - other commitments intervened this year - always next year to look forward to.........

A sort of kalideoscope of colour Mike!!

Works for me, although agree with Mark, regarding the eye 'wandering'.

It's a great display of colour Mike. Too bad for the motion blur. And I like Tristan's go at colour.

Cheers,
Marko
