Here's another image from a few weeks ago on the coast. This father/son had just hiked past us on a boy scout backpacking trip. They stopped and pointed at just the right moment to add some extra interest in this scene.
Lemme kow what yall think of this one.

Rick, for my eyes, the people don't make a difference, but I really like the long waterline angling in scallops from the lrc up to the left side of the frame.

Love the black and white conversion here Rick! I think the moment would be more apparent in a larger print. Being so dark, they are hard to see sorta.

Rick,
The image works well in B&W. As mentioned the two figures are diminutive and not particularly distinctive, however, I like that, as it gives the viewer something to find as they explore the photograph. I'm guessing there is no one taking leisurely strolls on the beach today.

The black of the beach contrasting with the white of the surf and leading through the photo are excellent, and I think B&W is an excellent treatment for this photo.
I agree with the comments above that the people are just a little too small at this resolution. I'm also on the fence about the islands being in the middle. They add intereste, but seem to break the flow that the coastline has going for you.
On an even more personal preference I seem to get tripped up when a line ends dead in a corner, such as the lrc. I'm not sure why. Do you watch "The Office" on NBC? There was a recent episode where the staff spent an entire meeting cheering for the screensaver logo to bounce dead on in a corner (guess you had to be there). I find the same distraction, prefering to have the line exit just to the side of a corner. Most likely others don't find this a big deal.
