I keep seeing reports of this Glossy Ibis that has taken up residents on the Somerset Levells,so I thought I would track it down to day,and it was very obliging, and not at all bothered by people looking at it all morning..................

Yep can't say I've seen one of those today, nice shot though concerned about its virtual feet and I'd clone out that spectral highlight in line with its beak.

Hi Stewart - well done for capturing this rarity, even if you did have to risk life and limb and visit the Levels to do it :toast:

Nice capture considering the harsh lighting - though I agree with Timothy over the 'virtual legs' and I too would have to nuke that highlight

Hi Stewart, was there myself this afternoon & the lighting was crap. (Shooting into the sun). Good effort with difficult conditions :toast: . A little more leg room would have been nice.

Hi Stewart
Judging by the angle of the sun I must have left just before you turned up.
I've got none with the light on the body and the head at the same time.
Nice shot of a very obliging bird

Thanks for the comments guys, yes the light was difficult to day, and no chance of getting the feet in shot,as the bird stayed in the long grass....

Wow I have never seen a shot of this although I have seen the bird before at Bowling Green Marsh in Topsham near Exeter along with spoonbills. Just wonderful to have this in your collection.
