Tawny Owl Test Run (c)
Taken today whilst testing out our new place with Danny Green.

Taken as the sun light faded, I wish I had increased the DOF, I keep forgetting

(c) in title for captive bred

D2X
400mm AF-S II F2.8
ISO 200
F2.8
1/90th sec

Thanks for looking :toast:

Comments & critique much appreciated

Another beltingly good image Vincent :toast:

I can see where you are coming from re increased DoF but to be honest I think the image would look a tad better without that top leaf; a tedious clone and patch job I know but eminently do-able should you decide to try :wavey:

Hi Vince,

I can see where Andy is coming from, but I think it would be great either way.
How's it all going?

Chris.

Nice image, like the highlights int he eyes. I have to agree about the leaf upper left. It would great if you could selectively place the leaves ;-)

Very nice Vince.

But i agree about that leaf.

Still great tho :toast:

Another beauty Vince :toast:

I think the shallow dof adds some vital depth, and avoids the possibility of a one-dimensional look.

Another vote for losing the leaf

Another great shot of this lovely bird. Nice warm colours and good DOF for F2.8. I also agree about that top leaf but that is just a minor nit.
