This was an older shot that I just had time to finally re-work over the last couple of days. The original scan was not as good as this one came out, it seems to have made a difference overall. Thank you in advance for your comments.

Oh ya, that's real nice!! I love the juxtaposition of LP peak and Whitney. I might crop this to a pano if it were mine Paul, i.e. crop roughly half of the sage and rabbit brush. Just a thought. Hey, the southern sierra just picked up several inches of snow and the sunrise this morning was great! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Cory.
Also, I will be heading up there again in either December or January time frame. I have Jury duty around Christmas time, so, I'm thinking maybe right after the 1st of the year for a 4 day outing. Maybe a Thursday thru Sunday time frame. Even if you can only make one of the days for at least a sunrise shoot let me know.

Well done, Paul. It's just gorgeous country!

wonderful! And nice timing with the light.
The more I hang out here, the more I think I need to try some color film out, haha!

Paul,
Gorgeous. To me, this IS alpen glow. So many times, early morning light on mountains gets called this by default, but really it's when there's a warm glow like this that I consider it truly "alpen glow."
I like how the light is soft and flat thru the landscape until you hit the Sierra crest - then blamo! Nice clouds too.
Such a simple shot, with so much beauty.

great light Paul. that bright purple edge around the clouds looks really weird though. I'd also try to do some curves on the foreground to create a little more contrast.
Thanks everyone for taking time to comment.
Richard, I will need to look at the full size TIFF file a bit. Hard to tell sometimes with the small JPEGs, especially after down sizing so much. Thanks for your review, it always helps me.
