Paul,
This looks very very nice but is a bit small to properly comment on. Could you repost slightly larger?
Thanks
Adrian

I would post a larger copy if I new how. It seems that I cannot post another image for 24 hours.

I think a repost in the same topic is OK

Another attempt at re posting.

Paul,
That's better. I like this image even more now Only slight nits are the whiteish mark on the rock on the RHS and the black "blob" just to the left of it but theyshould be easy to clone out and this is better than any of my landscapes so thanks for sharing

Yes, that's much better for the eyes.
Few dust spots aside, I like this photo. That line of poles is a great eye leader into the frame and distant hills make a good framing. I'm not to keen on ducks, especially after fighting with them on almost every reflection location in Slovenia .
I would notice "with repost" in your post heading for folks to know that you tweaked original post.
Cheers,
Marko

Very nice image overall Paul
I have to agree with Adrian, plus for me that fence is forming a bad line that's cutting the natural eye line of the image - I'd have moved to the right until the end post was in line with the center of the hills in the BG, or moved left so the fence wasn't in the shot at all.
But hey, that's just me, who can't shoot landscapes for toffee - what do I know

One of my favourite views towards Borrowdale Paul, and the light really makes the shot for me
Ive got a similar shot in B&W, that i took on my old mamiya, but found great difficulty composing this view with my then 80mm lens, and had to shoot from further back and on higher ground {which wasn't ideal, as the fence was too low in the frame, and i had a lot of featureless midground }
Much prefer this water-level framing, and the fence adds a vital element!!

I also have a similar shot, I think those posts are quite well photographed! This is a nice shot, I think the colours are great, its beautiful the way the subtle colour of the sky is reflected in the water. The comp for me is not quite right, I would have included more of the lake, perhaps a different angle on the posts as they bisect the shot a little too much, and as has been said not have included the ducks, which would have also given you better reflections of the posts in the water.
Anyway just my thoughts, but its a really nice shot of a classic lakeland scene, well done
Nice image but I agree the composition isn't quite right. I'd perhaps be going for more water and less sky or more sky and less water - and also possibly using a longer focal length lens to emphisise the mountains and fence without all the bits at the sides. Perhaps something very roughly like this pic attached. Tristan

Like the repost Tristan, and the black border rounds it off perfectly for me

Tristan I was b furious. You commandeered my image and took control. I didn't think this sort of thing happened here.
But you know I think you're right. I like your crop. It's made the image something quite different. I approached this subject with a definite end in mind and did not consider other possibilities. I was, obviously, happy with the results I had achieved otherwise I would not have posted but now, as a result of your edit, I see it quite differently. Many thanks for your input.
One nit. Hate that border. Confines the imagination.
