Everytime I see one of Tim Ernst's slide shows, I think "That was the best one yet!", and last night was no exception. Some of you that are able to see the shows, especially the waterfalls, will no doubt already have somewhat of an emotional connection to many of the locations. And when I see so many beautifully captured scenes in such a short span of time, while listening to the great music, well, it's really almost overwhelming. Great show, Tim!

Hey Bill, are you sure your emotional connection was not with all of the terrific food?! Man, those guys at the World Trade Center really put on a spread - holy cow! (in fact there was a lot of cow kabobs, and chicken, and SHRIMP, and all sorts of fine food, wines, and beer).
David:
The waterfall program will be the only one I'm showing on Saturday (twice, once at 6 and once at 8). I will be showing both programs for all other shows this fall, including three in Springdale, one in Ft. Smith, and one in Siloam Springs (plus all the rest in other parts of the state, including in CONWAY tonight). For anyone interested in seeing ORIGINAL William McNamara paintings, I do highly recommend coming to the Saturday gathering at Compton Gardens in Bentonville - he will have seven originals on display. Be aware though that the "dress code" is upper class. We were told that it was a "no jeans" dress code - I told them if that were the case that neither of the featured artists (myself or Billy McNamara) would be able to attend (I don't know about Billy, but I don't even own a tie, jacket, or fancy pants of any sort, nor would ever want to wear them if I did). They said that the artists would be exempted from the dress code.
This brings up an interesting point. I REFUSE to dress up for programs, any programs, where I am giving the program, no matter if they are paying me a lot of money or not. I wear what I wear and if they don't like it I'm just sorry about that. I have found that through the years no matter how dressed up the crowd is, or how big-time they are, a pair of jeans, t-shirt, and tennis shoes is always met with the feeling most of those in attendance would much rather be dressed like me! I also find it so amusing that "artists are exempt" from dress codes, and are expected to show up in some weird outfit (I don't consider my dress to be weird, only comfortable - WHY IN THE WORLD would ANYONE wear anything else?). So that is something you can tuck away in your pocket if you are ever faced with wanting to be comfortable at an event instead of wearing some sort of monkey suit - as an artist you can wear whatever you want and you will be fine!

Based on the dress code I may wait for one of the shows in Springdale.

Jones Center in Springdale tomorrow night, Friday the 16th, 7pm - there will be LOTS of room! (also two shows in December in Springdale)

Yeah, Denise and Laura really know how to put on a reception! How many trips did you make through the line, Tim? I must admit I was starting to get a little "connected" to the wine - good stuff!
I may try to get away with jeans Saturday, and I'll bet if Dr. Compton had any say-so, he wouldn't turn anyone away with jeans on. That's too bad that it has to be such a social event. If I showed up with a handful of cash for the auction, they'd probably let me in in my underwear! I guess the worst that can happen is they tell me to get lost.

Bill:
Just tell them you are working for me - they know anyone who admits to being a friend of mine would not have any fancy clothes!
I may have told this elsewhere but think it is funny. One New Year's morning at the cabin some of my friends got to looking at the nice closet I had in my guest bedroom. They decided that none of my friends had any hang-up clothes and so I would never need a closet, so they all got together and TORE OUT THE CLOSET RIGHT THEN AND THERE! Now that I have a teenage girl in that same room I have rebuilt that closet....
