Pretty sweet spot to wake up, eh?

Also ample incentive not to drink too much before going to bed! Let's see, was the 800 foot drop-off to the right or the left when I set the tent up... hmmm....

I hope that tent was anchored in case you decided to go for a midnight stroll.

I'm assuming that's the San Juan below. I've rafted it so I've seen it from the bottom. This is very cool!!! Love the panorama.

Yes, it's the San Juan.

It looks posed.

It is actually, I didn't sleep there. It was Rick's idea to put the tent there and take the shot. And even then, although the bend that you can see directly to the right of me is in the shot with the tent, all the bends put together are taken from a pano that I shot a couple hundred yards to the right of where the tent is.

Did you receive my beer money?

Yes, I sent your cable releases out yesterday.

Thanks Mark. Just remember me when you are savoring that fine brew.

I like this pano version even better than the other Mark. The pano really gives it that "holy cow" feeling. Now you just needed to get one of your compatriots to pose taking amorning "relief" out into the canyon .

Great shot. I never knew there were two goosenecks there. See? More places I have to go and see for myself! How sadÉ
