one from the garden,The tree stumps have a slight angle to them hence the virtual feet on this one.

Strange this one Stu, when I look at it at first it looks soft in places but after a few seconds I'm not so sure

For me comp wise it could do with a tad more canvass on the left :wavey:

Nice colours, nice BG - not overly keen on the stump though - SORRY :wavey: :wavey:

Nice image but not keen on the perch either. For me I need to see the feet on these birds. I'm sure you'll have better opportunities, although I'm not very lucky with Robins strangely. Nice pose, DOF and BG :toast:

No the stump is a bit wrong!I've added a perch for the birds now,the bird is sharp a far as I can tell but there are some bits in the shot that look soft that should'nt....but I dont know why?

Cheers

Stu.

my only nit is that there is a lack of "engaging" contact - the subject is looking slightly away from the camera - as a result there is no eye to eye contact to draw you in - its a fact of human nature we prefer eye to eye contact, so anything looking slightly away will always seem slightly aloof

I think that others have covered the nits, but with regards feet, if this had been in vegetation, then it wouldn't have mattered so much. Nice bg, so I'd like to see one with your new perch.

Hi Stuart

Minor nits covered a solid shot with a pleasing BG!

A simple and effective picture with great detail, just a shame you cant see his feet.
