I am getting ready for a craft fair and decided that some of my images from 2004 and 2005 may sell along side my newer images. I decided to reprocess the original RAW files rather than just print them as I saved them 2-3 years ago.
Well back then I was using Elements 3.0. I did use CS2 for about a year between then and now. Now I am using CS3. Wow! What a difference!! The 16 bit processing through all stages and the overall quality of the software has produced prints that are amazingly better. The color is more saturated and the sharpness is super ( I now use PK Sharpener). Using things like the newer selection tools I can get much better BGs and selectively work areas of images.
Anyway, I could go on and on boring you with the details. However, I just want to let everyone know how happy I am I decided to take a bit of extra time to reprocess the images.
Give it a try -- You will like it.

Ed, Elements 3 to CS3 is a pretty big jump.
Most of my earlier work was done with the first version of CS, and now I'm using CS2, so my earliest digital work from 2004 hasn't been enhanced so much by new software as by the added perspective I've gained over these last three/four years. There are several images from 2004 I've seen afresh -- and have just added to a show -- that I didn't give a second look back then, images that have sold very well lately. My pp techniques have changed, too, not because of a lot of added sophistication in the software but because I've better learned how to use it.
Not a contradiction to your experience at all, just the way it's worked for me so far.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I don't see your comment as a contradiction at all. I agree that my PS knowledge and skills have improved and continue to improve. I did use CS2 for about a year, but the files I just reworked have not been processed since the Elements days. All this really makes me wonder what things will be like in, say, 5 years?

Ed, if I learn as much about pp in the next five years as I've learned in the last five, I'm actually almost frightened over the results.
I hear there is a senior-moment patch coming soon, but I forgot the release date.

I'm trying to run CRS 3 with only 64k ram and the dang thing keeps locking up on me. I would upgrade but I don't think the motherboard will support anything higher.
Hank, are you saying I need a brain replacement? I have two brain cells remaining. One is showing smoke, so I have to be really careful how much I tax the single good one.
Pete: You're no help at all! I need that dowload...badly!
Bruce: You're Toast. Sorry!
Back on topic...Uh, what was the topic, again? Oh yeah, here it comes...
I have reworked some images in CS2 that I originally worked in PS-6.0. CS2 has made certain things easier, but by and large, I believe my skills with the software and my own seeing ability are improving. Imagine that, at my age! Will wonders ever cease?

Really? Then why do I keep having these 'senior moments', i.e. CRS syndrome?

CRS- Can't Remember Stuff
Preston, I believe it is the newer version CRS 3
Ed, is the bug fix for CRS 3 available as a free download, or do we have to buy the boxed version? I can't remember
