Just spent two days with a good friend in Kent, and he took me to a beach where he had seem Purple Sandpipers, and we were lucky enough to see four of them, and the light was very good, so managed a few decent images I think???

I would be happy with that.

Hi Stewart
Very nice, I particularly like the setting. Very minor nit - I would like to have seen the bird a little lower in the frame i.e. little less FG with more room above it's head!

I'd be very pleased if I were you Stewart
One thing though - if it was my image I'd go over the specular highlights with a spot healing brush just to tone them down
Nice bird, nice picture (Is there a purple sandpiper club on this forum eveybody seem to have a go at them )
I agree with Dave I would crop the bird to have the bird a bit lower in the frame. Still, lovely picture
Frederic
Agree with the comments, great shot though... trying to work out where this is... looks like nth Kent light...
