I have a somewhat useless question regarding the group site. It's still colorado.naturephotographers.net, even though we've been RMNP for a while now. Are there any thoughts about transitioning? Or is something specific holding us back?

Makes sense to change it...

I'm for changing it. RMNP always makes me think of Rocky Mt Nat'l Park....not that there's anything wrong with that

Hey! I have a very Novel Idea! Let's call ourselves Colorado Nature Photographers! Yeah that would be new and different. We just gotta be careful not to upset anyone not living in Colorado or make them feel left out.
Gee I'm Gonna miss all those posts about Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and the rest of the Rocky Mountain States between Alaska and Mexico.
Seriously, Does it really matter what we call ourselves? I think what matters is what we can do as a collective group of artists and friends. Like throwin Shindigs and Drinkin' Beer! Beeeeeeeeeeeer

Agree, I think RMNP it too easily confused with the park.
The Colorado.naturephotographes.net is good but I think when we last changed, it was done in part to include groups from our neighboring states; NM, AZ, UT, etc.
Regarding possible new names there is always MSNP but it may be too close to MSNBC??? Then there's "CUNANP". OK, a bit crazy.
Another thing somewhat related are our decal/logos. While the design is great they lack any bold contrast so when you have on on your car window and there is the slightest amount of dust on the window you can hardly see the decal. The old CNP decals were really good in that they were very bold and easily identifiable. If we had something bolder that may eliminate the need for the "green ribbon" thing.

I really don't care what the site address is as long as I end up in the same place. However, I do think that we should have a contest for a new RMNP bumper sticker.

I wasn't thinking of renaming the forum - I was wondering why we were still 'colorado.naturephotographers.net'...

I'm guessing here... But I'd imagine the subdomain name stayed the same because of the amount of work it would take to migrate the current forum and other content to a new subdomain.

I like the drinking beer part. That's without a doubt

Just lookin' out for those folks in states other than Colorado. Now about that beer...

Yeah changing the domain name would be painful at best. I agree let's work on New Sticker Logos and possibly other stuff.

Everyone,
As most of you know prior to RMNP, this forum was the Colorado Nature Photographers (CNP) forum. As Scott stated, I suspect the domain name did not change due to the amount of work involved. However, I will find out for sure.
Since there were some posts regarding new bumper stickers / logos...
Do you guys want just a new bumper sticker design, or both a new bumper sticker and a new logo for the forum?
