Richmond Deer
Taken on Friday morning.

It was freezing..... Can anyone recommend any warm boots as my walking boots aren't very warm.

You can buy wellington boots with a 3mm neoprene lining made by Hunter or Le Chameau which are supposidly quite warm, all though how effect the lining is at keeping your feet warm I don't know. They're quite expensive at £75-£80 a pair.

I`ve used Le Chameau Vierzonord boots for years and they are extremely warm and comfortable, wear them all day walking around, just like wearing shoes.

Shop around for prices.

I couldn't recommend them, having never personally used them, but the following link may be of interest...

Can't advise on the boots, but the shot is nice, like the frost covered bracken and the hint of mist in the woodland bg, perhaps a tad central but that is only minor.

Nice rich-toned image Barry :toast:

I have a pair of the leather-lined LeChemeaus' - They have seen better days as the are 6 years old now but still keep the old tootsies warm and dry

love the frost and background trees, oh and the deer

I think it might be my monitor because the body of the deer is almost too dark to show any detail. However I like the way it's almost framed by the shallow 'V' and the background is excellent. Blurred enough not to distract from the image but with enough detail to place the beast in it's habitat. I'd like to see the stag a little more to the left but that's a personal choice.

The deer`s body looks a little dark on my screen, too; I wonder if there is enough detail in the RAW file for you to tease out a little more using shadows/highlights, etc? Would be the final touch to an otherwise lovely picture - I love the frosty surroundings.
