Playing with warm B&W
HI All

I have been playing around with this style of "warm" B&W.
I know the tusks look a little to burn out but apart from them dose this work?
All comments welcome please

regards
Kev

hi kevin,

i think the "colour" works very well, giving the elephant some great texture. i don't think the tusks detract from it too much.

the main problem is the foreground, i think it's far too distracting.

hope this helps,

mark

Agree with Mark on the forground element, there may be good reason for it, but I personally would like a touch more room to the front of the elephant... The B/W works well here IMO.

Nice B&W shot, good tones, not heavy-handed with the contrast. Very reminscent of Martyn Colbeck's beautiful work. My only small nit is that the oof branches in the foreground are a bit distracting.

Well done. :toast:

As Paul said - very Martyn Colbeck :toast:

Agree with cropping the FG and adding some canvass left - perhaps blurring the BG wouldn't go amiss either as there's too much DoF for me on an image with such a busy background :wavey:
