Hello from Oregon!
Well, it's been a wild ride for the last month. Wrapping things up in CO around Halloween, leaving work on a Friday, driving out to Oregon over the weekend, starting work on a Monday, living in a hotel, trying to find a house... It's nice to finally have time to do something "normal" like post here.

Jennifer is still back in CO until Christmas, but I'm settling in here as much as possible. The new job is going well, and we're lining up on a new home. Hopefully by Christmas, we'll be moved in and getting back to normal.

The weather has been great - lots of rain and fog this time of year. Woo-Hoo!

In between business trips and house-hunting, I did manage to get out for a nice hike last weekend. Silver Falls State Park near Salem is just sick - 10 waterfalls on an 8.5 mile loop. I didn't do the whole loop, just a 3 mile hike to a couple of the falls. No serious photography - just some casual pics with the p&s, a nice hike and lunch by the water. I only have my laptop for processing pics, so these may look a little off; they're also on the small side so that I can see the whole image on my screen....

Haven't had much time to post, but have been 'lurking' here and there. Looking forward to getting back to posting more!

Rick,
Thanks for posting. It looks like Oregon has its own beauty that's a little different from Colorado's. Those waterfalls look spectacular.

That shot looking down to the pool and the outlet of South Falls from alongside the falls is awesome.
I've always wanted to go to Silver Falls SP, I've seen winter photos of it with fresh snow that look amazing. Hope the house hunting goes well!

Great to hear from you Rick!

You know I'm a sucker for waterfalls. Great shots even with the point and shoot. I think it is obvious that the potential there is huge! Talk about a lot of green. But then again it is probably green all year there with the annual precipitation the PNW receives.

It is funny that you mention all the "rain and fog" you guys are getting. I am sure Jennifer has told you how little precip. we have received since you left. Hopefully more storms will make it out here for the holidays.

Anyway, check this out for coincidence. Right after I checked my email I saw your post. You must have told your company that you knew another Coloradan who was considering the PNW. A recruiter 'just' sent me a job req for GE. Here is the header info:
Web Client Developer
Business Unit: GE Healthcare
Function: Technology
Location: Hillsboro, OR

LOL... It even includes relocation! Well, Hillsboro would be nice. But we aren't quite ready for such a move yet. However it is nice to know there are opportunities out West. :wavey:

I hope all continues to go well with the new job and house hunt.

Geez, nice stuff! Keep 'em coming! But be careful...stand there long enough and all that moss will be draped all over you!

Glad to hear you made it safely out there. Nice set of images. I like the third on the best, great light and colors on the foliage

Hi Rick,

Nice set of pics! Looking forward to seeing more! Just picked up our new trailer from Texas and currently in Moab for the week. Be sure your new house has a large concrete pad at the side, along with full hookups!
