Most of you probably know this area pretty well. Saturday Moring I ventured out into the woods with my camera, a lens, CF card and battery and full rain gear....the rain did not stop until 1pm after I had already came down dried off and was sitting at McMennimins having a glass of Ale....
No tripod on this one. I had to steady myself against the nearest tree and took advantage of the killer filtered light coming through the canopy above....
Thanks for taking the time to look and leave a comment, critique or suggestion...much appreciated...

Pretty decent comp, but I think you need to wring this one out again. The whites in the creek look much too muted and the contrast of the image as a whole looks odd - especially the brighter areas of the brush on the slope above the creek, where it has a brighter tone than parts of the stream coming from Fairy Falls on the left.

I find I'm a bit apathetic about the upper 1/3 to 1/2. I like the bottom a lot though. Maybe try Bryan's suggestions and try a panoramic crop to remove the top portion?

That's pretty cool, Darren. I, too, favor a crop off the top-- maybe to just at the tip of the downgoing branch on the right side tree. I think it's a nice, moody forest look but that most of the story is in the bottom part. Pretty durn good for handheld, too, at such a slow ss.

I would not crop much of the top of this image. A subtle light filters in from the trees above the cascade. A wonderful composition and hand held!
