Taken this morning before the downpour!
I have been keeping an eye out for a pair of Firecrest which are also in my garden.
A different pose from the norm this little chap was having a bit of a scratch
I know compostion isn't upto much but I just wanted to share the pic

Very nice Jacqui - they are a lovely little bird but quite tricky as they are hardly ever still.
ps enjoyed your diary/firecrest pics, you are very fortunate to have them in your garden

Cute and 'different' pose there Jaqui - nice to see the bird doing something
One tech point - looks like there's a bit of a cyan cast on the image, especially in the shadow areas and darker tones.
Thank you everyone for the comments they are always much appreciated and all advice is always gratefully received,
Now I have managed to get a few shots of them the next step is to hopefully get a better uncluttered background !
Patience patience........

...is a virtue! This is a remarkable shot of a Goldcrest - you almost never get to see the crest let alone shoot it! Background is a bit distracting but hell, who cares! Firecrests in the garden is even more impressive!! What part of the country are you in?
Dave
I actually live in Northern France, I couldn't believe it when I saw the pair of Firecrest too I havend managed a great photograph of these yet but I will post the one I have tomorrow If I am allowed :-)
Unless I am lucky tomorrow and get a killer shot !!

Lovely shot Jacqui! A bird I've never seen. I wish I had a garden like yours...come to think of it any garden would be nice
Next time I'm over I'll make a point of popping in for a cup of tea and a croissant - would love to see where you're producing these shots
