While shooting on the beach last week my camera started to behave very strangely. After shooting a vertical image I looked like always on the LCD to verify the histogram ... there was no image just a white field at the place where the image should be. :frown:
At first I thought that I did something wrong but when I started again shooting the same vertical image it happened again. Horizontal images were no problem only vertical images. I noticed that the battery was not at full power anymore and maybe that's the problem, so I changed batteries and indeed problem gone.
How is it that a low battery is only affecting camera when shooting vertical images ? is this the problem at all ???
Does anyone notice the same problem on a D70 ??

Thanks

Hi Jos,

I have a D70, but have never experienced a problem like that. Is the camera recording the image files or are you getting empty data files? I do know that when my battery is low, the viewfinder will go dark very quickly to save power. I wonder if the extra processing energy it takes to rotate the image in the viewfinder is causing the camera to go into some sort of power-saving mode?

Jos,

Mine has never done that. The only problem that I've ever gotten from a low battery, was that it suddenly refused to record any images.

My D70 also just refused to shoot when the battery is too low.
