Spent yesterday pulling together some recent work for a talk at a local camera Club last night - good reason to sort out some of the pile of "to be processed" work including this Wryneck - one of a series of shots from a couple of enjoyable early mornings this summer.

That is a beauty I love the way the light falls on the bird.
Cheers

Cracking shot Mark, you've caught the pose and light just right. Might be tempted to darken the oof right hand corner just a little.

Fantastic shot - I have only ever seen these creeping around on the ground in the UK - or distant views singing in the tops of trees - great light, great pose, very envious!!

Superb shot. I've never seen one of these in the flesh.

Would love to see one of these and then get a shot like this. Nice.

Wonderful bird in great light. We get them every year at Dawlish Warren. Very nice shot.

Hi Mark
I think they are wonderful birds and you have captured this one very well in a nicely composed image!

Hello Mark
Cracking shot of a difficult bird to do, your comp is spot on and the light is nice. Just think if you lost these by accidently formating your card

Thanks for all the positive comments - Danny you know too much
For those that are interested having spent a morning photographing this pair of birds (5-10 second changeovers at the nest every couple of hours only so not an enormous amount of material and a lot of sweat and concentration) I stupidly re-formatted my card by mistake the same afternoon (first and last time I can assure you ).
Fortunately a second morning gave me another chance!
