Nice cap there Craig
Lower PoV would have been nice but by the look of the FG would have been a difficult without clutter
It's looking a tad contrasty on my CRT and a bit of space to the right wouldn't go amiss comp-wise, but that's just me being picky

Nice one craig!!! It's not easy to capture these birds. I've been feeding them for weeks and I haven't got any decent shot The Rat is eating all the food!!!
Well done.

Yes a good one Craig got him in his entirity with a good looking eye.
Bit of clutter around but you cant have everything most of the time.

Getting any sort of shot of such a secretive bird isn't easy. Well done.

Weel done to capture an image of this secretive creature. An opportunity not to be missed.
There were a couple of these around my patch week before last. Swimming out in the open. Either the 1d3 let me down or operator error. Prefer to think the former.

Good capture Craig. Saw one for the first time the other day and it was in this type of habitat, so I guess it's extra tough to isolate these. Would try blending two images here to tone down those bright spots on the BG and it does look a tad contrasty. Worth pursuing I reckon with a bit of time spent on PP.

Hi Craig
Yes it does look a little contrasty but it is a nice shot and worth some more time in PS!

These are rather difficult subjects, but I literally walked over one at Stover Woods one day, almost kicked it! A nice portrait, a touch too much contrast?? Very nice composition, a querky angle, perhaps crop some off the top?

Well captured and composed image of a shy bird; I like the water droplets on the back too - does need a little P/S work as mentioned above.

I have now given it more room to the right and havent touched the contrast button.(I use Lightroom).
The background leaves are still a bit distracting but its not often one of these pops into view at close range.

Very nice shot of a tricky one Craig. Yes the repost is much better. I think I would play around with the black point and the fill control a bit and lighten the breast/belly a little. Very good for a 1/60th

I prefer bird a and background b, but what a fantastic view.
