OK, not the most exciting animal, but with the bad weather at the moment, I'm finding it hard to get out of the city to find some more inspiring subjects. Mind you, with the number of dogs running around the park, these squirrels are surprisingly hard targets with only a 300 mm lens!

Nice shot. I like the pose and the eye contact. Could maybe stand a little more USM.

Hi Daniel

Good detail, BG and eye contact. I'm not keen on the crop - I feel it would have worked better either tighter or with the whole animal!

Nice capture Daniel :toast:

I too am not too keen on the crop though - would love to have seen a lot more of the whole animal in this pose :wavey:

Lovely pose and well captured - tighter crop would work better as a landscape image imo. Goes to prove it's always worth getting out there though!

It even looks quite cute.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I agree, a tighter crop might work better. This was the only shot i got this close, as it spent most of it's time moving cautiously just out of range. It jumped onto the tree near me, as a dog came from the other direction, and this was the only shot i got before it ran away. A vertical framing including the whole body would have been much better.

Cheers,

Dan.

I think this works really well - lots of character, good eye contact and the bushy tail filling the bottom right. Good stuff.
