Is there any fall color in Arkansas still lingering anywhere?
I'd like to go shooting over the Thanksgiving extended weekend.
Being in Texas I have no clue what the foliage is doing now.
Thanks

I was in the Ouachita Mountains on Saturday. The color was gone in the Winding Stairs area on the Little Missouri. Late in the afternoon I went driving around the area north of Shady Lake. The overall hue was brown, but there were large patches of color on the sides of the mountains near the ridges here and there. Down along the stream valleys the beech trees were sometimes colorful in their own way. I wanted to get out and take pictures, if that tells you anything.
Good Luck!

Last weekend I saw some remnant color here and there in the Ouachitas north and southeast of Mena, but it was well past peak for the most part. Around town here in Fayetteville in northwest Arkansas this week there has still been some nice color in individual trees.
I wouldn't count on finding much of what you would call fall color, although a back lit hillside will probably still have an overall reddish tint.
