I don't know about anyone else but I'm hooked on this children's tv programme. Igglepiggle in his little boat drifting off into the ocean night ... it's just so dreamy.

Anyway - the real title is 'The Dark Eternal Night'. Taken in what seemed like total darkness, stood on the edge of a rather large drop with an incredibly rough sea.

What can one say - oooo, I know - glad I'm NOT there :wavey:

Superb image Tristan, great comp - and a real moody image :toast: :toast:

very nice image. I like the way the long shutter has dragged the clouds as well as the waves.

Must apologise for not commenting much the last few days, since returning to work I have been rather busy...

Nice.... I was going to ask about this Iggle person/thing, Andy beat me to it, I sometimes put the TV on and watch something, but don't ask me after what I had watched

For me I like the blur of the water and clouds, although from the description I would expect an even moodier sky, perhaps a crop to square removing some of the top and decentralising the horizon? Not that I know anything here so feel free to totally ignore me

I'd agree with Phil in that it is a very calming image. The sky dominance neutralises the movement in the near waves.

166 seconds - how was that worked out?

I quite like it, not sure as much as some of your other shots though. The interest in the bottom left is great and the dreamy atmos lovely, just not sure about the overall comp. I wonder if a little more detail in the water and rocks might contrast well against the dreamy sky, but hey I would be really happy with the shot, so just my ramblings really - feel free to ignore.

Great stuff as always

Paul

Love this Tristan bags of mystery and atmosphere. Just out of interest have you slightly shaded/vignetted the edges a bit? May just a little too much in the bottom right corner. Its something I've never tried but I can see it does have its uses - to help keep the eye in the frame.

Thanks for the suggestions.
John - It probably is vignetting on the lens, I'll have a look.
Tom - the exposure was meant to be 3 mins but I lost count

I guess Igglepiggle, Makka Pakka and the big Haahoos arn't well known amongst people who do not have toddlers and/or watch cbeebs occasionally. My little man isnt actually that interested, he prefers his books, but I love it.

Very interesting shot, a 50/50 comp rule break, this image works very well. The clouds are essential to the image, the black inky rock offsets all this very well.
