I haven't posted anything for some time now as I've been extremely busy with school, work, and photography on weekends but here's a digital capture from this now long gone autumn. It had rained earlier in the morning this particular day, and not all of the drops had evaporated yet. I used a frosted shower curtain over the scene to act as a diffuser with the sunny mid-day light. Yeah, I got some weird looks, but I've never been one to go out shooting in order to win style points. Anyways, I used my digital SLR for depth of field reasons. Two shots were manually combined at different focal points in order to extend the DOF @ f11 (I hit serious diffraction induced sharpness loss beyond that point). I will have some film shots to share in the coming weeks as I have a couple hundred sheets that I should be getting back reletively soon (don't ask). As always, thanks for looking and I hope this coming holiday finds you and your families well!

Nice work, Joel. Great composition, color and DOF. That's a beautiful 'shroom!. I like the idea of a shower curtain as a diffuser -- never would have come up with that.
Have a great holiday.

Joel,
Nice find on the mushroom! I know what you mean as far as the autumn coming and going so quick!
I think in this, you wanted the mushroom to be the focus?! I find my eye wanting to wonder over the the larger leaf on the left. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Mitch, I didn't intend for any specific element to be the "focus" really. A major point of interest perhaps, but certainly not the only one in the frame. Thus, I wanted everything sharp, so the eye could move through the frame and explore the different elements. Thanks for the thoughts, I understand where you're coming from.

This works for me, Joel. I like that you included a lowly, but lovely 'shroom with the leaves.

Joel,
Leave this alone--it's great..... if it ain't broke!
I really like images where the leaves look natural .I've seen to many that all the leaves are all turned right side up... not real.
Very nice job.

Tech Stuff: Olympus E-500, 35mm @ f11, 2 combined exposures to extend DOF
